Don Papa is the first premium rum made in the Philippines. Distilled and aged in American oak barrels, it features a complex finish with hints of vanilla, honey and candied fruit, thanks in part to the use of locally grown “noble” sugarcane.
The story of Don Papa is linked to a spirits expert who, during a vacation in the Philippines, discovered that the Philippine archipelago is one of the most important producers of sugar cane in the world. Hence the idea of creating a premium rum from sugar cane molasses. In 2012, Don Papa was born, south of Manila, on the island of Negros, known as Sugarlandia. The name of the brand is inspired by Papa Isio, the Filipino hero who contributed to the liberation from the Spanish in the revolution of the late 1800s. For years, Don Papa has collaborated with associations that care about the environment, wildlife and the well-being of local farmers, promoting their training and creativity.
Don Papa announces a national tour for the summer season, which will span Italy from June to August 2026, stopping at twenty different locations.
The Sugarlandia atmosphere will come to life through immersive displays, music, and entertainment, in an interactive journey where each participant will discover their own spirit animal.
Each profile will be paired with a dedicated cocktail: Papaloma, Papajungle, Papaquiri, or Papamule, created to enhance the different expressions of Don Papa Rum, Don Papa Masskara, Don Papa Baroko, and Don Papa Alon.
