The history of Polugar, rooted in Russian culture, traces the origins of modern vodka. Before the state monopoly of 1895, Polugar, known as “bread wine,” was prized for its full-bodied taste resulting from distillation in copper stills. Today, traditional production is banned in Russia, but Rodionov & Sons has revived this tradition in Poland.
