Located in Chamery, in the Montagne de Reims, Champagne Labbé & Fils is a family-run Maison, with Damien and Jérôme Labbé representing the fourth generation of winemakers. The family began growing vines at the end of the 19th century and, over time, expanded their vineyard area to 10 hectares. Great-grandfather Maurice Bonet was also a founding member of the Cooperative Régional Vini de Champagne, marking an important development for the family.
STYLISTIC
Labbé & Fils champagnes are distinguished by their complexity and varietal identity, thanks to careful work on individual parcels. The vineyards extend over 40 plots in four different villages (Chamery, Écueil, Sermiers and Villers-aux-Noeds), each with unique characteristics of exposure and soil. Jérôme Labbé, an experienced winemaker at Bruno Paillard, introduced the use of oak barrels to ferment and age the most prized parcels, allocating them to the Maison’s flagship cuvées. This integration of barrels gives the wines depth and complexity without altering the character of the terroir.
