Located on the top of a hill overlooking the Greve in Chianti Valley, the estate extends over 140 hectares of which 34 are cultivated with vineyards. Among the varieties grown, Sangiovese stands out, a fundamental grape for the production of Chianti Classico. The terroir of the area is characterized by a Mediterranean climate and the typical soil rich in clay and large stones, the so-called Galestro.
At Castello Vicchiomaggio the vineyards extend along the hillsides on soils rich in large stones and clay; cultivation is conducted rigorously, the processing of the grapes occurs without forcing and includes, at the end of the process, refinement in both large barrels and barriques.
Vicchiomaggio is a memorable 360° experience. Surrounded by the charm of the medieval castle, you can stay in comfortable apartments and spectacular suites, relax in the infinity pool and taste the best dishes of the Tuscan culinary tradition in the estate’s restaurant.
