Armando Piazzo and gemma veglia are two young newlyweds who founded their winery in the early 1960s, investing in a special territory, the Langhe, which was not renowned at the time. Located in the heart of the Langhe, the Piazzo family vineyards extend over 70 hectares with 60% cultivated with Nebbiolo around the city of Alba. 15 different zones, with different soils and exposures for a composite mosaic of richness and complexity of the wines.
ZONE
The Piazzo Winery boasts the production of the most representative wines of the Langhe and Roero tradition: in addition to Barbaresco and Barolo, they also produce Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera d’Alba, Dolcetto d’Alba, Roero Arneis, Langhe Chardonnay, Moscato d’Asti and two classic methods that refine for 30 months in the bottle after refermentation.
STYLE
Great respect for the variety and terroir, with wines of ample structure, intensity and persistence in full respect of the Piedmontese tradition. Juicy, fluid and well-balanced wines. The cooler years produce the most elegant and fruity Chardonnays to produce the two classic methods.
